THE RESTAURANT’S HISTORY

The osteria al forno di agnese
was established in 1968
by mrs agnese, the grandmother
of the current owners.

The Osteria has always paid particular attention to the gastronomic tradition of Civita di Bagnoregio: old recipes handed down through generations and a careful selection of ingredients help to create the authentic home cooking that has always been the unmistakable style of Italian quality.

The careful preparation of food, and a constant search for old recipes that has now been almost entirely lost, ensures our customers are served a unique dining experienceunique dining experience.

The menu includes starters with local products like cheese and meat of the highest quality, as well as stuffed pasta, ravioli, soups, and many home-cooked first courses, adding a special touch to old flavours and creating new culinary experiences, such as Sedanini with sausage, hazelnut and cream (and we also serve gluten-free pasta). You can taste Civitonica chicken, our pride and joy, and our restaurant is the only one that cooks it in accordance with the original recipe. But our cuisine also offers traditional Italian second course dishes: beef and pork steaks, straccetti (sliced meat) with rocket salad and pine nuts, and other specialties to be enjoyed along with our delicious and unique side dishes, such as classic vegetables and salads, always enriched by interesting combinations.
Or the special salads with the special touch of new ingredients that will amaze your eyes and palate: lentil salad and panzanella strawberry salad among many others.

And do not miss out on our delicious desserts such as tiramisu with lemon and ricotta cheese and pear pie. We also have a very special selection of local wines to accompany you on a culinary experience from another time.
